Description

Mastro Butter Cake Recipe isn’t just a dessert—it’s a memory wrapped in golden edges and melting sweetness. The first time I tasted it was on a rare night out, one of those special occasions where the linen napkins feel extra crisp and you linger just a little longer over every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
    • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

    • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar

    • 3 large eggs

    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

    • ½ tsp salt

    • ½ tsp baking powder

    • ¼ cup whole milk (or heavy cream for extra richness)

Optional Toppings:

    • Vanilla ice cream

    • Whipped cream

    • Fresh berries

    • Caramel or chocolate sauce

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prepare

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9-inch round cake pan (or a springform pan for easy removal) with butter and lightly dust with flour.

Step 2: Cream Butter & Sugar

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 3: Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, until just combined.

Step 4: Bake to Perfection

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are okay—this keeps it gooey!).

Step 5: Serve Warm

  • Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce for the ultimate Mastro’s experience.
